This looks to be about the best resource for optimization problem solving that i've found. They have a description of all different types of optimization problems, and a free, public problem solver that solves thirteen different types of optimization problems. Very interesting. One thing in particular that i noticed is that the problems to be solved are required to be uploaded to the solver servers in specified file formats. The following link is to a project that aims to replace some of the outdated problem-description file formats with XML. Check it out:
