Software - Personal Projects

Hexstab (NCURSES)

A different kind of editor for binary files.
Not a traditional hex editor, this is designed
around editing files that use non-standard character
maps. Hexstab will ultimately support full-width CJK.
  Current revision: hexstab-pre-alpha - unavailable

alarm.sh (mixer script)

A scriptable fader which modifies your mixer
  settings automatically with numerous parameters.
This script will eventually support aumix to ensure
  better cross-platform compatibility.
  Current revision: alarm.sh v1.0 - 2004-06-14 21:27:11 UTC

Modification - Optimization and Compatibility

Firebird GFX (NetBSD pkgsrc-current)

  Emphasis on the bird.
  Original project: http://pkgsrc.org/
Firebird-0.6.1 still gives me the best results of the Phoenix series.
  See for yourself.
  Current revision: gfx.diff.1 - 2004-07-09 00:17:44 UTC

Mutt (1.4 branch sidebar)

A third pane in the curses interface. I really was skeptical at first.
However, it brings to Mutt a unique functionality in its own right.
Don't write this off as a GUI-fication until you see it for yourself.
  Original project: http://vorlon.cwru.edu/~jrh29/mutt/
The infamous sidebar patch from Justin Hibbits.
The original patch should work on any platform with mutt-dev.
My jacked-up patch should work on any platform with mutt-stable.
Since I don't actually change the functionality of the sidebar,
I may soon just release a small patch just for the -dev patch.

TuxNES (NetBSD 1.6.2/i386)

  Emulation is a touchy subject.
  Original project: http://tuxnes.sf.net/
When I patched TuxNES, DarcNES was the only NES emulator in pkgsrc.
DarcNES works as expected in all ways, which is no small achievement.
Yet, it still lacks all of the special fine-tuned features of TuxNES.
