EECS 391: Midterm Grades
Midterm Grades
Midterm grades were computed using
- Midterm Exam (70%)
- PS1-6 plus MiniPS1 (30%)
This reflects the fact that exams (midterm plus final) are 70% of your final
grade and programming assignments are 30%.
The distribution of these scores was as follows
(N=36):
9: 9843211
8: 9776110
7: 887644433310
6: 31000
5: 864
4: 51
(HIGH, MEDIAN, LOW) = (99, 75, 41)
The midterm letter-grade distribution/percentage (and cumulatives) were as follows:
A (90-9A): 7 / 19% ( 7 / 19%)
B (80-89): 7 / 19% (14 / 39%)
C (70-79): 12 / 33% (26 / 72%)
D (59-69): 5 / 14% (31 / 86%)
F (00-59): 5 / 14% (36 / 100%)
GPA = (7*4+7*3+12*2+5)/36 = 2.2
Thus, almost one fifth of the class is doing A work; about 40%
are doing A or B work, and almost three quarters are C or higher.
Notes:
-
Many students are just above or below a grade cut-off.
Therefore, your numerical score (available via Blackboard)
will give you a better idea of where you
stand than the letter grade you receive at midterm.
- 491 students are listed in the above with respect to their
undergraduate protion only (for better comparison);
they do not receive midterm grades and should compute
their overall performance via the information sheet and their
scores in Blackboard.
